Release Notes:

Based On A True Story is the sophomore album from American Idol finalist,
Kimberley Locke. Kimberley chose this title because the songs on the album, 8 of
which co-written by Kimberley herself, tell the true story of the emotions she
dealt with during and after her relationship with her ex-fiance. She found that
when she sat and talked with her collaborators about the issues she was working
through, the songs began to write themselves.

Kimberley Locke's second album is very much like her first. Like One Love,
released three full years prior, Based on a True Story is a polished,
professional set of mature pop songs, and though several songs are samey and not
all that memorable, not one is poor, and they all get by on Locke's talent and
likable nature. There are hints of contemporary country, straight-ahead rock,
and inspirational adult contemporary, while the most modern-sounding songs fall
into the realm of urban-oriented dance-pop -- like "Doin' It Tonight," a
Neptunes knockoff that is actually a few years too late, and "Supawoman," which
might have been written with Mary J. Blige's "Be Without You" in mind. It's a
safe, pleasant album that should satisfy Locke's fans, though it probably will
not excite them. Included is a bonus cover of Freda Payne's "Band of Gold," a
song she performed very successfully on American Idol with Frenchie Davis.

Retail Notes: This is a retail rip of this album; the other release was either a
webrip or poorly sourced, with horrible sound quality all around. It has a
cutoff at approximately 13 KHz; all the tracks suffer from a general flat sound
and lack of high-end. A normal rip will usually cutoff around 19 KHz. If you
didn't notice this the first time around, upgrade your equipment mang! The other
release sounds like a web stream through my MDR-7506s. Though the bitrates reach
as high as 206 kbps and all encoding parameters are correct, you must use your
ears and spectral analysis to detect the flaw in this rip. Our release has much
better high-end, sounds way crisper, and many of the bitrates exceed 200 kbps.
Complete analysis and comparison between the other release and ours is included.
We are bringing it back old school; enjoy this early Tuesday rip, which also has
scans. Don't forget to support the artists!
